Along with the islands belonging to the national park system, the Channel Islands National Park is one of the four parks to cover areas in the Southern California Coast and the northern part of the Santa Barbara Channel. Then heading south, the Santa Barbara Island has the smallest area of 640 acres and a single square mile.
